![]() ![]() Space combat, however, is where the real fun starts. The mode you selected at the game's start will roughly determine how often you will have to deal with the ground controls (looking at Executrons here), but for an early access game, they suffice for now. Every game starts off in a first-person POV. While ground combat still feels a little clunky (I think it is a control issue), it's still fun, manageable, and great to watch a battle line of tanks supported by infantry try to charge your base while you mow them down with a minigun and your clone buddies. While some units you produce seem to be carbon copies (e.g., Industrial CEOs get tanks, Science CEOs get walkers, but their UI and control scheme is the same), the weapons and look of the troops between the factions are different. I still haven't played them yet, but they seem just as interesting as the Science and Industrial types, so I am very excited to see how they fight. ![]() They use teleportation technology, and steal resources from their opponents, among other things (watch the newest trailer). Finally, the Spy CEO relies more on subterfuge. Science CEOs have lots of cool tech (like their means of transporting troops and ground vehicles, essentially Stargates - or wormholes you can walk through to instantly transport yourself a great distance), but their stuff is more expensive to counter their powerful advantages. ![]() Industrial CEOs strip-mine asteroids for big chunks of resources, use nuclear power and need to deal with nuclear waste, and make big hulking ships. There are three separate factions that each have a different take on how to gain resources, travel, and fight. five years later and ~10 hours in game, I can say I am happy with my purchase. I took a brief look at this years ago and didn't care for what I saw. Whether you like FPS or RTS, this game will have something you like. I would love to play this game with more people and see it grow. I recommend that you all try it, and if you need someone to play with, let me know. It still needs work, but in the five years since it has come out, I am really happy to see the amount of growth and love put into this game. TLDR: This is probably one of the most fun games I have played in awhile. ![]()
